WakeMed plans new mental health, acute care hospitals in US

Not-for-profit healthcare system WakeMed has submitted two certificates of want with the US state of North Carolina for the development of a psychological well being hospital and an acute care facility.

Following crucial approval, the healthcare system will construct the 150-bed WakeMed Psychological Well being Hospital.

Earlier, the North Carolina authorities granted 50 psychological well being beds to WakeMed, which has requested for 100 extra beds below the most recent certificates of want.

WakeMed additionally introduced plans to construct a 45-bed acute care facility. The WakeMed Garner Hospital to return up in North Carolina can even characteristic 24 emergency division bays. 

At current, WakeMed has three healthplexes positioned in Garner, Brier Creek and Apex which have full-service emergency departments (EDs).

As soon as accredited, the 12-bed Garner Healthplex ED can be shifted to the brand new hospital with 12 extra beds. 

The Garner Healthplex will then be used as a medical park to supply ambulatory providers akin to imaging and lab.
